Whether you’ve had a rough day or you’re looking spoil your someone special, a leisurely soak and a libation (or two) can be the perfect way to induce those relaxing feelings.
In fact, according to psychologist Neil Morris, a hot soak can help reduce the feelings of depression and promote happiness. Plus, warm baths have been shown to promote a good night’s sleep, reduce inflammation, and according to some research — promote heart health!
Not to mention, a warm and steamy bath is the perfect way to get your someone special in the mood. The following cocktails are the perfect addition to your dip, helping you uplift your spirits and calm your nerves. Enjoy!
Mint Bubble Pick-Me-Up
3 ounces Prosecco, chilled
2 – 3 mint leaves
2 thin slices of cucumbers
¾ ounce St-Germain
Fill glass with prosecco. Crush mint leaves in the palm of your hand to release the oils. Add to glass with cucumber slices. Add St. Germain and stir gently. Serve immediately.
Pear + Ginger-Sage Bubbles
1 cup honey
3 cups water
2 whole pears, peeled, cored and diced
1 large chunk of ginger, peeled and diced
20 fresh sage leaves (and additional for garnish)
1 bottle of your favorite champagne or sparkling wine
Combine honey and water in a saucepan and bring to a light boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring constantly until honey has completely dissolved. Add pears, ginger, and sage leaves. Let simmer until mixture has reduced by one-third.
Remove from heat and let mixture sit for 10 minutes. Strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer. Discard ginger and sage leaves. Save pears.
Transfer to a medium jar. Cover and refrigerate until chilled. Once chilled, fill a glass with 4 ounces of champagne. Add 1 TBS of chilled simple syrup. Stir gently and top with 2-3 small pieces of poached pears.
