Looking to get more out of your beauty routine? Who isn’t? From getting ready faster in the morning to looking put together after a workout, the following tips and tricks can help you hack your beauty routine so you look better, in less time, throughout the day.

Keep Blemishes at Bay

Whether your workout routine is gym to desk on a regular basis or an occasional one, getting sweaty and then heading back to work can sometimes lead to unfortunate blemishes. As you sweat, your pores open, allowing dirt and grime to get inside, eventually causing blemishes. Stop blemishes before they occur by cleaning your face in advance. Prior to your workout, wipe your face with a salicylic acid pad to clean off bacteria and prevent it from getting in your pores.

Tame Your Mane

As you get your heart pumping during a workout, your hair is sometimes shaken around, causing flyaways and frizzy hair. After your workout, use a light hairspray to tame your mane. Simply spray a small amount on a fine comb and then gently smooth wild hairs back into place.

Quick Dry with a Microfiber Towel

Do you dry your body and then wrap your hair in a towel? This can be a good way to keep it out of your face. Unfortunately, that cotton cloth can quickly get soaked and then keep your hair wet. Instead, wrap your hair with a microfiber towel which wicks water from your hair and scalp, helping it dry more quickly.

Put Your Coffee Run to Work

Do you have a tendency to get a little shiny later in the day? Make sure to swap some of those brown recycled napkins during your next Starbucks run. They work amazingly well for soaking up excess oil on your skin without disrupting your makeup.

Say No to Mascara Smeared Eyelids

Does it seem like half your mornings are spent cleaning mascara smears off your eyelids? It can be easy to brush outside the lash when you’re in a hurry. Just say, ‘No,’ to the potential hassle. With your free hand, hold a business card behind your lashes to avoid any errant wand strokes from landing on your face.

Give Your Nails a Fresh Brush

Can’t seem to squeeze in a trip to the nail salon? Don’t worry. You can freshen up your nails in no time. Using a toothbrush, simply scrub them with a whitening toothpaste. Then, wash them clean.

Word to the Wise: Make sure to use a dedicated toothbrush for this purpose. You don’t want to mix the bacteria caught under your nails and the bacteria in your mouth. That’d just be gross.

Never be Without Your Eye Cream

Do your eyes have a tendency to get puffy? Whether you’re traveling or spending the night at a girlfriend’s place, not having your eye cream can cause you unnecessary discomfort. Instead, use a small contact lens case to store a bit of your eye cream in your purse so you always have it on hand.

Bonus Tip: Don’t just think wrinkles are around the eyes. The skin around your lips is prone to develop wrinkles too. While you’re applying your eye cream, ad a dab or two around your lips too.

Avoid Shiny Pictures

Going out for the night and know you’re going to be posing for some selfies with the gals or family photos? Skip sunscreen fortified foundation. While it can give you an extra layer of protection from the sun, you don’t need to worry about that at night. Sunscreen can reflect excess light, causing you to look extra pale. If you don’t have a sunscreen-free foundation, add a little extra bronzer to brighten your face.

Wiggle with It

Want your lashes to look full without clumps? Try wiggling your wand as you apply your mascara. Start at the base your lashes and wiggle it slightly as you move your way up. This helps you quickly create a full and defined look.

Hydrate and Exfoliate at the Same Time

Do changing seasons make your lips dry out and become cracked? Mix a small amount of sugar and Vaseline together. Applying this DIY scrub to your lips can help you exfoliate and hydrate at the same time to get your lips back to smooth perfection.
