Great for salad dressings, marinades, and pickling, vinegar is also a wizard at cleaning. You can use it to clean your empty dishwasher and decalcify your coffee machine. Diluted, it can be used to remove carpet stains and cut through soap scum. You can use it to clean toilet bowls and linoleum floors. Really, it’s a wizard with just about any cleaning job!
Baking soda is another cooking, okay baking, essential. But it’s also a wizard at cleaning. It absorbs odors. Stick it in a smelly bathroom, fridge or even microwave to soak up unwanted smells. It can even clean up funky garbage disposals and sink drains. Simply dump some baking soda down the drain. Add some Lemmon juice and vinegar and let it fuzz and eat away the yuckiness.
Kosher salt is fabulous for seasoning everything. But it’s also a great abrasive item for scrubbing dirt and grime away. It works well on cast iron and glass baking dishes. In the bathroom, it’s fabulous for removing hard to tackle soap scum.
Olive oil offers an easy to make wood polish. In a 2-1 mixture, combine olive oil and lemon juice. use a soft cloth to apply the mixture in a light layer.

But they also are wicked good cleaners. The high acid content helps them cut through messes, especially when added to other cleaning agents.
