Article after article touts the negative effects of clutter. From increasing stress and wreaking havoc on your diet to jeopardizing your relationship and derailing your career — clutter can be the catalyst for many issues. Not the least of which is the way it can get your morning off on the wrong foot!
For most of us, the bathroom is the space where we begin and end each day. Which mean, the bathroom sets the tone for the day. Clutter in the bathroom typically equals clutter in the house and clutter in your life.
Luckily, you don’t have to just say, “this is how it’s going to be.” You can declutter your bathroom, revealing more space physically and emotionally for you and your whole family.
3 Steps to Declutter Your Bathroom
Get Rid of Expired Products
Expiration dates exist for a reason. The product’s effectiveness can change and how it works can change — which could cause anything from mild irritation to dangerous side effects. And the crazy thing is, almost all of us are storing expired products. Take a look through all your cabinets (and even what you have stashed in your shower) to see what’s expired. Then TOSS IT ALL.
Stop Buying in Bulk
Okay, bulk toilet paper? Probably still a good decision. But bulk sunscreen? That expires yearly. And all those sample soaps you’ve been saving for a rainy day, but never use? Get rid of them! They’re just adding to the clutter.
Take a Look at What You Actually Use
Is your bathroom a treasure trove of grooming tools? You’re not alone. Extra curling irons. Your old electric razor. The waxing kit you were sure you’d use. There’s a good chance you’re hanging onto something that hasn’t seen the light of day in some time. Donate it.
Simply taking these three steps can significantly cut down on the clutter level in your bathroom and ultimately, throughout your life.
