The PSL is back on the menu. We are digging back out our sweaters. And the leaves are starting to turn. Which means, the air — and our skin — is growing drier.
It’s time to show our body some love and give our skin the attention it deserves, whether you are staying home or getting out for a physically-distant adventure. The following fall skin tips can give your face and body the TLC it needs:
Try a Thicker Moisturizer
During the summer, a lightweight moisturizer that lets your skin breathe is delightful. However, as the air grows drier and cooler, a heavier moisturizer stands up better to the beating your skins takes. You want to look for one that is full of essential oils and fatty acids to help replenish what your skin is missing.
Don’t Skip Your Body Lotion
During the hectic days of summer it is easier to get away with skipping the body lotion routine. But now is the time to hydrate your skin. You want to be sure to moisturize from head to toe every time you shower. And for extra love, try and give your body another once over before bed.
Reduce the Exfoliating Sessions
While exfoliating can be a great way to get rid of dry and dead skin. Too much exfoliating, especially when your skin is already dry and vulnerable, can actually damage your skin by causing tiny micro abrasions. So during the fall and winter months, it’s a good idea to cut back on your exfoliation routine.
Invest in a Dehumidifier
Another great way to boost your skin’s hydration is with a dehumidifier. And the best news is, a dehumidifier takes next to no work from you! Just plug it in, occasionally re-fill the water and you’re good to go!
