Recipes Worthy of a Bath

Life can be an amazingly delightful and dirty good time – especially when you have something to celebrate. During the summer, we love a good backyard BBQ, loaded with messy finger foods and some slip-and-slide action. We like days on the boat, playing catch with the kids, and generally running around in the sun.

The following are some of our favorite treats, worthy of taking a shower and cleaning up.

Baked Buttermilk Chocolate Donuts

You can feel a little better about these baked babies. After all, they’re not fried like a traditional donut. But don’t let that fool you into think they’re light on unctuous goodness. The cake-like chocolate donut is studded with chocolate chips and topped with chocolate ganache for a dessert that does the body good.

Crispy Honey Balsamic Chicken Wings

Tangy and sweet, these crispy wings by Heather Christo are all kinds of flavor and all kinds of satisfying. If you want to take them up a notch, add some chili pepper flakes to the mix.

The graham cracker, chocolate, marshmallow combo has long been a classic. And we’re quite partial to it in its original form. However, sometimes you want to take things up a notch. In cases such as this, kitchn has some great recommendations. Imagine adding peanut butter and bacon to the mix. Picture a little strawberry and banana action. Tyr swapping the classic chocolate bar for a peanut butter cup. Really, the options are endless.

Packed with chickpea fritters, tangy lemon-spiked yogurt, and all kinds of mint, these falafel sandwiches by Molly Yeh are the kind of delightful bread-stuffed main you’ll love wrapping your hands around…even if you have to lick your fingers clean.

Another BBQ classic, ribs are hard to beat. A finger food to its core, there are as many rib recipes out there as there are grill masters. Which one is the best? That’s a matter of preference, however this list of five top picks from the Food Network is a good place to start.
