When it comes to decorating, bathrooms often get the short end of the stick. Compared to picking out a new couch or comforter, they’re just simply not as fun.
The result is often bathroom décor that’s just okay. But this doesn’t have to be the case. You can up your bathroom decorating game with just a few simple steps — not the least of which is by adding a runner to your bathroom.
Why’s a runner a great addition to your bathroom? Because it’s a non-permanent way to add color, texture, and luxury.
Runners come in all kinds of styles, patterns, and colors. You can get ones that are solid and you can get ones that have big prints. You can get runners that have subtle patters and ones that are decorated with pictures. Talk about a fabulous (and affordable) way to add a little something extra to your bathroom.
Runners can also be used in practically any size bathroom — big or small. This means that even a tiny bathroom can suddenly have a big wow-factor simply by adding a runner.
Runners also come in a variety of textures, so you can easily give yourself a plush landing pad for when you’re standing in front of the sink and/or getting out of the shower.
One thing to keep in mind when adding a runner to your bathroom is moisture. You likely aren’t going to want to use a fine Persian rug, as this will likely be damaged by lots of water. You’ll also want to consider selecting a machine washable runner, as this will allow you to quickly and easily give it a sprucing up, helping to extend its shelf life.
